Our Story
So, it all started when 2 people were thirsty and needed a drink... They organized to meet up and have a drink...
Somewhere in a distant galaxy, there was another thirsty person but with a not-so-thirsty friend... anyway, the one person went along for company, they made plans to meet up so the other person could have a drink...
Somewhere in between all the people being thirsty and having drinks Abi and Wiehan were introduced to each other...
She was the drink he had always been thirsty for and he was the company she had been longing for...
It sounds cliché to say it, but it was the proper fairytale....a guy sees a girl across a crowded bar and immediately knows something will be different... Like Ted Mosby in 'How I Met Your Mother'... Wiehan knew... this was it... he was never going to have the comfort of a blanket all to himself ever again.
WHAT'S THE MOST MEMORABLE TRIP WE'VE TAKEN TOGETHER?
Our December 2022 vacation in Yzerfontein remains a blur for everyone, thanks to our festive spirits. Amidst it all, there was one crystal-clear moment when Wiehan went down on one knee, and the rest is history.

WHAT'S THE BEST MEAL WE HAVE EATEN TOGETHER?
Every time when Wiehan braai's a vleisie...
But also, our 5th anniversary dinner at Damhuis in Melkbosstrand. Unforgettable! Featuring delicious dishes such as Chicken Pot Pie, Oxtail, and Muscles......and yes; mussels too.

Nothing... zero, naddah, zilch... and Liverpool
BUT ON A SERIOUS NOTE:
What's most important to us, is spending time with the people we love the most. We take pride in everything we've overcome together. Our journey has been challenging, with moments where it seemed almost impossible to continue. Through perseverance, hard work and love we fought through those tough times, hand in hand. Now, with those challenges behind us, we look forward to enjoying the rest of our lives together.

THE MOST SPONTANEOUS THING WE'VE DONE:
We packed up all our belongings and moved to a new province in the space of three months, not knowing anyone in Cape Town other than my (Abi's) dad.
THE DORKIEST THING ABOUT US:
1. We give each other quirky nicknames.
2. We sometimes talk to each other like we are talking to a baby.
3. Exchange funny memes throughout the day that reminds us of each other.
Tidbits
HOW DID OUR LOVE STORY BEGIN?
It all began with a very short message from Wiehan saying: "Jy is mooi "
We started dating in 2018. Over the years, our love grew stronger, and in December 2022 we got engaged. In February 2023, we moved to the beautiful Province Cape Town, to start a new chapter together. Now, in May 2025 we are finally celebrating the wedding day we have been waiting for, for so long.

WHAT'S OUR FAVOURITE ACTIVITY TOGETHER?
Then: Cuddling up with our furry friends, feeling their warmth and happiness, all while enjoying some delicious ice cream.
Now: Spending a sunny day on the beach. Enjoying the sound of the waves, collecting seashells and of course, no beach day is complete without indulging in some delicious ice cream afterwards.
WHAT IS OUR MOST MEMORABLE DATE?
​We have countless cherished memories together, from my (Abi's) first music festival and go-karting, to relaxing spa dates together, ice skating adventures, and spontaneous late night trips to McDonald's for ice cream. Each holds it's own special place in our hearts.

As much as we love your little ones as our own, we respectfully request that our wedding remain an adults ONLY event. This decision allows all of our guests, including parents to fully enjoy their time with us.
PLEASE turn off all mobile devices (incl. cameras) during our Ceremony. We will provide you with the POV camera app barcode to scan at your table during our Reception. We have an excellent photographer that will capture our day, which we will obviously share with you.

TRANSPORTATION TO CEREMONY SITE
Tholo Thabanyana will transport all guest to and from the pickup point to the River Chapel.
Please ensure that you are at the pickup point at 14:00 as all guests have to be seated (@14:30) for the Ceremony.
There is no toilet facilities at the Chapel. Please make a bathroom stop before pickup.
Only 4x4 vehicles will be able to make their own way to the Chapel.
Please be kind and don't leave your co-guests in a cloud of dust.
Should you miss the pickup time, you will have to wait at the venue until AFTER the ceremony
Honeymoon fund
The most important gift to us is having all of you share this special day with us.

WHEN IS THE RSVP DATE?
​Kindly RSVP by 15 December 2024, to ensure an accurate headcount for our wedding.
*PLEASE note that if we do not receive your RSVP by 15 December 2024, we will assume that you are unable to attend the wedding and we will allocate your seat/s to another couple - no exceptions.

The weather likes to keep things interesting. Expect beautiful sunny days, with a hint of chill as the evening sets in (it's the start of winter after all). Be sure to pack some warm layers for the night- we don't want anyone freezing their bu...off...well, you catch the drift?

Guests staying on the premises will have allocated parking spaces. For those not staying on site, the staff at the venue will assist you in finding suitable parking upon arrival. Parking is free of charge.

LADIES: Since we are getting married on a farm, we highly recommend that you ditch the stilettos and wear block heels; if you're into that high-heel vibe.
GENTS: Please keep the sandals for when you are on vacation and at the beach.
We do have a strict dress code, so please choose your shoes wisely!
​Feel free to bring along sneakers or comfy kicks for when the dance floor opens. We want you grooving comfortably as we party into the night.
IS THE WEDDING INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?​
Our wedding is outdoors near the riverside, but our reception will be held indoors.

The ceremony starts at 15:00
Please ensure that you're at the pickup point at 14:00 as guests should be seated by 14:30.
IS THERE TRANSPORTATION BEING PROVIDED BETWEEN THE RIVER CHAPEL AND THE RECEPTION AREA?​

Should you miss the pickup times you will have to wait at the reception until the ceremony is done. Alternatively, you may drive down to the chapel with your own 4x4 vehicle,
IS IT OKAY TO TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS WITH YOUR MOBILE DEVICES AND/OR CAMERAS DURING THE WEDDING?​
During the Ceremony - Please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony as this will all be captured by our super professional photographers.
During the rest of the wedding - Absolutely!
